How to Finish a Painting
I often hear people say that FINISHING their intuitive paintings is the hardest part of the process.
And I totally get it.
You might start out joyfully dancing your color across the canvas with wild free abandon, but at some point your painting turns into a confusing mess.
Sound familiar?
If you’re nodding your head in agreement, you’re not alone. In fact, this is the number one struggle I hear from my students.
I would LOVE to help you all with this, so in this week’s Hey Flora episode, I’m offering up a few helpful tips about finishing intuitive paintings.
If you’re craving more support when it comes to finishing, I highly recommend checking out this month’s Studio Diary dedicated entirely to this hot topic.

A few months ago, we hosted a little Studio Diaries party at the studio, and we asked a few folks how they would describe Studio Diaries to a friend. This is what they said…
Praise for the How to Finish a Painting Studio Diary
“This month’s diaries have made all the difference in my progress – I finally feel like I am getting it.” -Sandra
“This month’s Studio Diary was absolutely amazing and so incredibly helpful. I’ve been trying my hand at intuitive painting for about a year now. The process is so fun, but finishing has been a challenge. The tools you have put forth this month make so much sense. I’m excited to pull out my canvases and get to work! Thank you!” -Nina
“This months studio dairy assisted me greatly. I have struggled with completing or declaring a paint complete. And so far I have brought at least 4 to completion, along with some minis. Yay. ” -Helen
“It is with much gratitude as I write to tell you how transformational each diary is; so full of generous teachings – your grounded and compassionate approach makes this journey of re-discovery and joy possible – creative healing began with your book, followed by the E-Course and now the diaries. You are a blessing!” -Robbi
