With so much happening in the world right now, I’m feeling especially grateful for the practices that bring me back to my heart and into my body.
This weekend, I spent time with my friend Pixie, and she asked me about the “dense nutrients” in my life, aka the things that are truly feeding my body, mind, and spirit in this time.
I loved reflecting on this question, and hearing what others had to share.
What feels the most nutritive for me is time in nature, dancing to great music, sweating, painting, meditating, writing, jumping in cool rivers and lakes, eating greens from my garden, listening to inspiring podcasts, getting my hands and feet on the earth, and spending time with close friends.
I realize the more I do these things, the more connected, nourished, and resilient I become. And from this place, the easier it is for me to show up to this transformational time with a full cup… ready to serve, learn, and adapt as needed.
What are your dense nutrients right now? Are there ways you can invite more of these things into each day? Are there activities, people, or ways of thinking that are feeling more draining than nourishing? Is there one thing you can do today that will fill your cup?
New Interview
Before I sign off, I’m happy to share a recent interview I did with Josephine Kimberling for her wonderful podcast, Highlight Real.
Josephine has a really lovely way of inspiring meaningful conversations, and it was such a pleasure to talk with her. We dug deep into the ways the creative process teaches us about being present, cultivating courage, working with what’s working, and staying open to change — some of my favorite topics 🙂
I hope you enjoy it too.
Be well friends and remember to keep seeking out those dense nutrients 🙂
