OK, I’m not actually naked in this conversation, but I am raw and real in all the other ways : -)
In this heart-to-heart with my friend, Andrea Scher, I share why The Art of Aliveness feels like such a huge turning point in my life and career. You’ll see my new silver hair pulled up and off my face, which in and of itself feels like a testament to this moment. I realize how long I’ve been hiding behind my bangs and hats.
There are so many ways I can hide from who I really am…
I also had some construction happening in my studio, so I had to film this conversation in my friend’s apartment with just a bare white wall behind me —no colorful paintings to dazzle and distract you away from ME.
Sometimes I hide behind my art too…
Maybe you’re feeling this cracking open and falling away too? Like there’s just no other way to be other than fully ourselves anymore? For me, The Art of Aliveness feels like the material manifestation of this experience — a deep stretching of myself into uncharted territory: raw, exposed, real, honest.
It’s all very alive, indeed!
Today is the official release day for The Art of Aliveness (woohoo), and I want to thank so many of you for already placing pre-orders. It means the world to feel your support. And if you’d fancy a signed copy, you can find those cuties right here.
With so many amazing books to read, I’m beyond honored for any moments you choose to spend with mine. I hope it feels like one long love note from my heart to yours.
