Beginning with a grounding meditation and simple movement practice, this three-hour, live-streamed class explores a variety of intuitive painting techniques using TREES as our subject matter. The focus is on creating from a place of rooted, embodied intuition, while reaching towards freedom, spontaneity, and the courage to create in new, innovative ways.

The materials needed are a basic set of acrylic paint, a variety of paint brushes, a spray bottle full of water, a cup of water for your brushes, rags, and four sheets of watercolor paper or canvas. Please be sure your paper is at least 18″ x 24,” but larger will allow for even more freedom. In the class, you’ll see me work on watercolor paper that is 30″ x 22.” You will also need some trees to reference, either real trees you can see while you paint or images of trees from books or that you’ve printed out.

No painting experience is necessary, come as you are!

Focusing on presence, intuitive observation, and creative freedom, this three-hour, live-streamed class begins with a grounding meditation followed by an array of drawing exercises, painting techniques, and unique ways to witness, honor, and incorporate the natural world into your artwork.

The replay of this live class (originally filmed on Earth Day 2020) is available for immediate access after purchase. The materials needed are acrylic paint, colored pencils, and watercolor paper, and some kind of plant or flower to use as a reference in your work. No painting experience is necessary. I would love for you to join me for a day of painting and connecting with nature!
