Today I want to share some very exciting news, which also qualifies as one-of-the more-vulnerable-moments-of-my-life.
I still remember sitting in my car talking to my publisher, Randy, about how my new book would be a combination of my personal stories, along with my thoughts on the creative process as a guide for living.
I remember thinking, just HOW PERSONAL are we talking here?? To which the answer was: The more personal, the better.
So here I am, sixteen months later, sharing my very personal book with you, written right in the middle of a global pandemic.
In it, I share the details of my IVF journey, the grief of losing my beloved mama, the wild story of hitchhiking into a disaster zone (and staying), the reason I changed my name to Flora, why I made eight dusty pilgrimages to Burning Man (and what I learned there), and why my “starving artist” years were some of the best.
Through these stories and all I’ve learned as an artist and creative guide, I share how living has taught me how to paint and how painting has taught me how to live.
It’s called, The Art of Aliveness, and I couldn’t be more thrilled (and terrified) to finally share it with you.

Vulnerability and all, I truly just hope this book, written with all my heart, will help, heal, and soothe. And like the subtitle says, offer a creative return to what matters most.
Did I mention my art shero, SARK, wrote the forward? Reason enough to order it!
With love + gratitude, always,
xo Flora
