Has this ever happened to you?
Someone sees your painting and spontaneously begins to offer tips, critiques, and ideas. Sometimes this advice is absolutely welcome, and sometimes — not so much.
In this day and age, we have so many ways to put our creative work out into the public eye.
This exposure can be a wonderful tool in creating connections and sharing our work with wider audiences, but putting ourselves out there so much can also leave us feeling vulnerable and misunderstood.
Prompted by Grace’s awesome question, I share my thoughts about how to use the occasion of unsolicited advice to set clear boundaries and ask for what we want and need. Hallelujah!
